FAQ

  • What should I do before my eyelash extension appointment?
Please come to your appointment wearing no mascara, eye makeup or moisturizer. Allow up to 2 hours for your appointment, wear comfy clothes and please put your phone on silent. If you currently have eyelash extensions on, please arrive with lashes cleansed with an oil free lash cleanser.
  • How do I care for my eyelash extensions?
Keep your lashes dry for the first 24 hours after application. Brush daily with a clean lash spoolie, we will supply you one after your first appointment! Cleanse every 1-2 days with an oil free lash extension cleanser, available to purchase in salon. Do not pick, pull or touch your lashes with your hands, this can damage your extensions and natural lashes! Avoid all oil-based products near and around your eyes, be extra careful with face cleansers and moisturizers - This can affect your lash retention. If you are a side sleeper, we recommend a silk pillowcase. Normal pillowcases can cause friction on the lashes, that can affect your retention. We recommend booking a lash refill every 2-3 weeks to maintain fullness.
  • What if I want to remove my lash extensions?
We offer lash removal, this appointment goes for 30 minutes where we use a solvent to break down the lash adhesive, for a safe extension removal from your natural lashes. We do not recommend removing extensions yourself as this can cause permanent lash damage!
  • Do you need to have a lash 'break'?
As we are always lashing healthy lashes, a heathy lash growth cycle is maintained! If we are noticing faster lash loss due to possible health issues, we will recommend a removal and reapplication when your health has been improved.
  • Can I change the thickness of my lashes?
We try our best to choose what lash extension style would best suit you and your lifestyle. If you are wanting to alter the thickness to make them thicker or ease on the thickness to make them more natural, we can adjust this at your refill appointments. Pricing is variable depending on the style you choose.
  • How long will my extensions last?
We expect roughly 5 weeks from start to finish, following the correct aftercare with no picking! We do recommend refills every 2-3 weeks to maintain fullness to keep them looking natural.
  • What if I've had this service completed elsewhere prior?
A consult is required to assess if Lincoln Sunkissed can complete this service over previous permanent makeup. We reserve the right to refuse this service if we feel that it would not compliment or blend, and we may recommend removal prior to offering our services. We do not offer a touch up for those who have had their brows/eyeliner completed elsewhere, new clients require 2 sessions to ensure the best quality result.
  • What is the downtime and is there aftercare?
The treated area will be darker and bolder in color and more defined. This can last up to a week after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place. It may feel a bit like sunburn afterwards but there should be minimal discomfort. Redness/swelling are minimal and will ease within the first few days post procedure. There should be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. The complete healing process takes about 4-6 weeks, at which time the true color of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. You may think you have lost too much color. Be patient, your skin is still regenerating and exfoliating! Colour, thickness and depth can be added at your 4-6 week perfecting session. We will provide you with an aftercare instruction sheet and aftercare ointment at your appointment.
  • What to avoid post-procedure?
Pick or scratch at the dry skin/flakiness; let the skin fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring and premature loss of pigment. Excessive exercise for a least a week, due to sweating! Gentle exercise is okay for after the first few days. Apply makeup to the tattooed area for the first 2 weeks. Cosmetics of any kind may interfere with the healing, colour of your tattoo and can cause yucky infections! Use Vaseline or other petroleum-based products while healing, we only recommend using the ointments we supply. Tint or dye the tattooed area for one month following the procedure. Use anti-aging products or facial products containing Alpha Hydroxyls (AHAs), Retin-A, Lactic or Glycolic Acids for a minimal 2 weeks after your appointment. Thread, wax, or use hair removal products on the treated area while healing.
  • I want to add more colour and definition to my tattoo, Is this possible?
Absolutely! We can always add more but we can't take off, this is why we are always cautious with your first session to gauge how your skin reacts and retains pigment. If you are still wanting more colour after your 4-6 perfecting session, this can be done but a $50 tray charge to cover pigment/equipment/time used. This is only offered 4-6 weeks after your free touch up, any touch ups after this required time are classified as an 'under 12-month colour refresh' and will be priced according.
  • How long will my appointment be?
Initial appointments are roughly 2 hours and touch up appointments take 1-1.5 hours.
  • I am worried it will hurt!
We use necessary numbing ointment for your comfort, that we apply prior and throughout the appointment.
  • I am on medication and/or have allergies. I'm worried that I am not suitable for this service?
We recommend consulting with your doctor if cosmetic tattooing is suitable for you.
  • How long do spray tans last?
Spray tans last roughly 7-10 days. Daily moisturizing is required to ensure your skin stays hydrated for the ultimate long-lasting tan.
  • How do I prep for my spray tan?
Complete all hair removal (If needing to) and exfoliate 24 hours prior to your appointment. Take extra time exfoliating under arms, inner elbows / elbows, behind your knees / knees and your chest area! Come to your appointment with no makeup, deodorant, perfume or moisturisers on, these will act as barriers to not allow the tan to absorb in these areas. Wear loose fitting dark clothing to wear afterwards.
  • What do I do after my spray tan appointment?
We will recommend a time to keep your spray tan on for, based on the shade of tan you are wanting. Avoid all water/moisture, this is the de-activator of your tan! Be careful with hand washing, rain, sweating ect. Avoid wearing tight fitting clothing/bras/jeans before your rinse, this can rub on your skin and remove your tan. No products on your skin! Rinse your tan with water only, no soaps, shampoo or bodywash as these will strip your tan before it has the chance to develop! After your rinse and your tan is fully developed, you can use these products. Go over your body with your hands to remove excess bronzer until the water goes clear. Tans take 24 hours to fully develop so don't gauge your final result post rinse off, it will continue to develop throughout the day. Moisturising your skin is recommended after the 24 hour developing time.
  • What if I want to remove my spray tan?
Exfoliate your spray tan using a tan mitt/glove daily. This will aid in a quick removal!
